THECB is the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. THECB is the highest authority in Texas for public higher education.

Ensure the efficient and effective use of higher education resources.
Develop and track progress toward long-terms goals for higher education.
Collect and make accessible data on higher education to support policy recommendations.
Make recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of transitions. This includes the transition to a college or university, from one school to another, and into the workforce
Administer programs and trusteed funds for financial aid and other grants as appropriate.
